What is health?

I could write about this topic for pages and pages, but let me share what the World Health Organisation thinks:

“Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity…

… The health of all peoples is fundamental to the attainment of peace and security and is dependent on the fullest co-operation of individuals and States.”

Wow! That’s saved you and me a lot of time and thinking. How can we truly expect peace, health and vitality in our families, towns or country without exhibiting those same virtues in our own bodies and systems.

Every tiny, seemingly insignificant action that we take towards health (not just absence of symptoms) is a move not only towards greater personal quality of life, but also to greater peace and health in every society in which we participate. My great hero Dr. Bruce Lipton put it eloquently like this:

“If humans were to model the lifestyle displayed by a healthy community of cells, our societies and our planet would be more peaceful and vital. ”
